Fair, Lovely and Full of Shit — Musings Of An ENFP **Sister’s got a POINT**

Here’s to everyone. Men, women, transgenders, hijras. You are all beautiful. Dark or fair, size zero or ten, bald or hairy, tall or short. You have beautiful blemishes on your body, scars on your skin, a tummy flap that you struggle to hide, blackheads and pimples, the occasional body odor, and crooked teeth, to name a few. But we all have them.

We don’t have to be all Kens and Barbies. Because you are much more beautiful than they can ever be.

Read the entire article (which is just as beautifully uplifting as you expect it to be) on my baby sister’s blog “Musings of an ENFP”.

What to do when you’re stuck indoors??

Monsoons are here. I’m still hoping that Jaipur will get a little bit more, uh, “monsoony“, if you know what I mean. The sticky humidity, the cruel sun and the occasional rains have been keeping me indoors for the better part of last month. The fact that humidity turns my hair into a frizzy bush has absolutely nothing to do with me not going anywhere out.

And between desperately trying not to stuff my face with cheese and crackers and trying to decide on the right time to exercise, I have had to come up with a few pastimes that keep me from becoming a total lazy lump.

Here’s Vrinda’s guide to passing hot, lazy days in a (relatively) productive manner.

  1. Read. As much as you can. Books, any genre, are good for waking up a dull mind. Or maybe just to escape the harsh real world. I’m a major Potterhead and big time nerd and I’m not scared of owning up to it. Currently, I’m obsessed with Regency Romances. Utter fluff, I know, but the chivalrous gentlemen are yummy! books-cute-heart-love-photography-Favim.com-429445
  2. Watch Movies. Or a TV series you always wanted to watch. When you’re in Fashion, movies are a spectacular source of knowledge. My current goal is to watch all movies in IMDb’s list of “100 movies every girl must watch”. I’m also watching the TV series Sex and the City because I was too young to watch it in the 90s, and let me just say, Ms Bradshaw is a total delight!
  3. Re-arrange your Music. According to year, artist and genre. Try previously unexplored genres. Create playlists in tune with your various moods. Kindly ignore if you think this is too OCD. draft_lens19030080module156140806photo_1325568947music-genres
  4. Revamp your Wardrobe. Spend a day re-enacting the wardrobe-sorting-dress-up scene from Sex and the City: the movie. Call your girls over and go crazy, pairing different pieces together and coming up with entirely new styles. 91188784_2749438_0_827d2_8f2c0c0_orig_1_
  5. Take up a Hobby. Whatever pleases you. Sing to your heart’s content, dance till your feet ache. Cook and bake till you get that recipe you liked right. If you’re into crafts, there are a lot of DIYs out there. Me, I’m currently trying my hand on sequin and bead embroidery.

Summer break is the time you can really try new things. Don’t be afraid to go all out and overboard. You just might discover a whole new YOU!
